New Creation Realities
Congratulations And
Welcome To The Family!
Congratulations on your
decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord! Time and eternity
will prove to you that this is the best decision you could ever have made. So
square up your shoulders, hold your head up high and never let anyone make you
feel like you have done something awful or embarrassing.
Simply put, you have
became a part of the family, firstly by believing in your heart that Jesus came
to the earth in the flesh, was crucified for your sins, died, was buried, rose
from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven; and secondly
confessing with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour. You are now a
part of God’s spiritual family here on earth and have the assurance of eternal
life in heaven when you exit this world.
The
Sin Nature
We
are all sinners. Since Adam sinned by disobeying God in the garden of Eden, all
men have been born into sin and totally separated from God with no hope of eternal life.
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God,…”
You
Were Separated From God
Isiah
59:1-3: “Behold, the Lord hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; Nor his
ear heavy that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your
God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. For
your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips
have spoken lies, your tongues has muttered perversity.”
God
Loved You Even When You Were A Sinner
John
3:16 “for God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
You
received pardon by the blood of Jesus and all your sins were forgiven through
Christ’s death on the cross.
Mathew
26: 28. “ for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for
the remission of sins.”
Ephesians
1:7; “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of His grace.
Forgiveness
and Remission of Sin is Not Automatic
Forgiveness
and remission of sin do not happen automatically. They happen upon your
deliberate and conscious acceptance of the Lordship of Christ over your life.
John
1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children
of God, to those who believe in His name.”
But
How Did This Happen?
Romans
10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. {10} For with
the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation. {11} for the scriptures says, whoever believes on Him will
not be put to shame” {12} for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek,
for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. {13} for whoever
calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.
New
Creation
When
you believe and confessed the Lordship of Jesus over your life, you became a
new creation in the spirit. This means that every wrong you ever did, or every
sin you ever committed were all wiped out by the blood of Jesus that was shed
for you on the cross.
You
were born into sin, but after accepting Jesus into your heart as Lord and
personal savior, and as you begin to study the Bible your old nature will begin
to give way to the divine nature.
2
Corithians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old
things have passed away; behold all things have become new.”
You
Are Now Re-Born of The “Incorruptible Seed”
1
Peter 1:23-25 “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but
incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because
All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The
grass withers, And it’s flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures
forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
Corruptible
seed is the human reproductive seed that gives birth to the flesh while the
incorruptible seed is the word of God that gives birth to and makes alive the
spirit of God in you.
Romans
6: 6-7 “knowing this, that your old man was crucified with Him, that the body
of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For
he who has died has been freed from sin.
A
man who is dead to sin no longer enjoys or indulges in sinful activites. The
more you yield to God to obey and please Him, the less satan will be able to
have access to you to cause you to engage in sin.
Romans
6:11 “Likewise you also, reckon yourself to be dead indeed to sin, nut alive to
God in Christ Jesus your Lord.”
You
Are No Longer Your Own
Being
freed by the blood means that you are purchased by the blood. You, therefore,
no longer live unto sin but unto God who has purchased you by the blood of His
Son Jesus.
Galatians
2:20 “ I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but
Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Jesus
now lives in you and He becomes your new nature.
Realities
Of The New Birth
1.
You
No Longer Stand Condemned: The forgiveness you received through Jesus Christ is
absolute and absolved you of all sin or wrong doing. Through the righteousness
of Christ, you are completely freed from any accusation.
Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now
no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to
the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in
Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
2.
You
Have Been Reconciled Back to God: while
you were born in sin and lived in sin, the new birth reconnects you with God’s
Original intent for your life. It reconciles you with God and presents you
blameless before Him.
Colossians 1:21-22 “ And you, who once were alienated and
enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of
His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blamelss, and above reproach
in His sight.”
3.
You
Are Now A New Man: You are no longer who or what you used to be, because you
have accepted God’s free gift of salvation. Acceptance of the free gift of
salvation automatically destroyed your sin nature and you were instantly
re-born in the Spirit with an entirely new nature.
Ephesians 4:20-24 “ But you have not so learned Christ, if
indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in
Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which
grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of
your mind and that you put on the new man which was created according to God,
in true righteousness and holiness.”
4.
You
Now Have The Characteristics Of The New Man: Just like every organization has
its code of conduct, so also does the kingdom of God. Therefore, your new life
is expected to affect your lifestyle. Certain standards and characteristics are
now expected of you as a result of the outworking of the new life which you
received.
Ephesians 4:
25-32-: lists a few of these characteristics as follows:
(A)
No
Lying: Therefore putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with
neighbor, for we are members of one another.”
(B)
No
Anger: Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor
give place to the devil.”
(C)
No
Stealing: Let him who stole steals no longer, but rather let him labor working
with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has
need.
(D)
No
Dirty Talk: Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may import grace to the hearers.
(E)
No
Offending The Holy Spirit: And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom
you were sealed for the day of redemption.
(F)
No
Bitterness: Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put
away from you, with all malice.
(G)
No
Hating: And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even
as God in Christ forgave you.
5.
You
Now Occupy An Extremely Elevated Position:
Ephesians 2: 4-6
“ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved
you, even when we were dead in trespasses, made you alive together with Christ
(by grace you have been saved), and raised you up together and made you sit
together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
