“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the
children of Israel to go forward.” – Exodus 14: 15
The children of Israel
found themselves in the most troubling scenario you could ever imagine. They had
literally boxed themselves in between a rock and a hard place. They were well
and truly stuck! Before them was the Red Sea. On either side were treacherous
mountains. Behind them was the furious Egyptian army. There was no way out of
there. Or so it seemed.
Are you in that kind of
situation right now, where everything seems to have gone all the way South and
nothing could get any worse? You have tried all you know to do, but nothing
seems to be working at all. Now, you feel like stopping the world like you
would a bus and getting off it. You feel like this all because you are stuck.
Being stuck on a spot
is one of the enemy’s greatest strategies to keep God’s people from fulfilling
their purpose. He makes sure that they neither advance nor retreat. He simply
keeps them immobile on a spot thereby neutralizing them as a threat to the
kingdom of darkness.
Everyone gets stuck
every now and then. Everyone gets in a situation that has them locked in. some
of the people you admire the most may even get into this kind of situation more
than you imagine. The difference is the decision they make every time they find
themselves in that situation.
David stood in the
middle of carnage and loss. While he and his men were away at war, the enemy
showed up and plundered his camp. They took his wives and the wives of his men.
They took their children. They left nothing of worth. The victory he returned
from did not make any sense right then. His men even considered stoning him.
David was stuck.
Moses and David did
what a good leader would do in that kind of a situation. They sought the face
of God. God’s response to both men was clear. He told David, “Pursue them. You
will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” (1 Samuel 30:8) he
told Moses, “why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”
Sometimes, we think we
are waiting on God, but God is the one waiting on us! I have sought the face of
God on behalf of our Church and His instruction to us is, “Advance!” We are not
of the breed of people that turn back. We do not belong to the class of people
that look back. We go forward. We don’t stop, we don’t retreat. We advance!
When you advance at
God’s instruction, you set yourself up for miracles. When you make that move,
you give God something to work with. Remember, faith is the evidence of things
unseen. If you believe it has been done, then act like it. When God told Moses
to tell the Israelites to advance, He was essentially telling Moses, “If you
believe I did not plan for you to drown in the Red Sea, then act like. Go
forward!” W can’t say we are full of faith and sit still and make no moves.
Faith is loud, not
quite; and it acts. When you have faith in God, you do things that regular
people think is crazy. We did not have all the funds we needed when we began to
build our facility. God instructed us that it was time and we swung into
action. We trusted God for supernatural supply. We sowed seeds into other
ministries and committed the funds we had into the project. We spoke words of
faith and we acted. God moved immediately. Suddenly, a project that seemed to
be of gargantuan proportions became a walk in the park. Of course we had
challenges. There were times that it seemed like we were in over our heads.
There were times the enemy taunted us, but we never considered turning back.
When you walk with God, you do nothing with a sense of failure. Settle it in
your heart that God is able. Be certain that God has instructed you. Then go
all out! If you have to, do it afraid. But, do it!
These are not the days
to sit back and complain about how your uncle did not help you or how terrible
the government is. You have God. You have everything you need. God will lead
you in the way you should go. He is the voice behind you that tells you,
“This is the way, walk in it.”(Isiah 30:21). You cannot be disadvantaged. Put
pressure on the grace of God on your life. Put pressure on the word of God.
Apply pressure in the place of prayers.
This is the time to
speak words of faith! This is the time to make bold declarations. This is the
time to take steps. You are not making waves because you are not making moves.
When Joshua and his men advances, they found that the walls of Jericho had not
foundations. When they followed God’s instructions and gave the shout, the
walls that had kept other nations from taking the city gave way for them.
You can’t afford to sit
back and watch. You can’t afford to watch things happen. Just because you feel
stuck doesn’t mean you are stuck. The walls before you will crumble if you move.
The Red Sea will part; the Jordan will dry up; the walls of Jericho will come
down, and you will overtake your enemies and recover all.
If you will take God at
His word and do as you have been instructed, you will see the wonders of God.
The Egyptians that bothered you will become a thing of the past. The enemies
that taunted you will shut their mouth in shame. The dreams that seemed out of
your league will come to pass speedily. God will shock you. You can’t afford to
stay stuck. Make that move now. Advance!
Blessing!
