He who dwells
in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the
Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in
Him I will trust. “Psalm 91: 1,2”
There is no doubt,
strange and dark things are happening more frequently in this age. We hear gory
tales of inhuman acts carried out by people who were once innocent children but
who have grown up to become so mean that such horrendous acts mean nothing to
them. Things we imagine were confined strictly to the realm of horror movies
have begun to play out in the society and people’s hearts are filled with fear
and trepidation. However, with you, it shall not be so.
As soon as you received
the life of Jesus, you got enrolled in the most elaborate protection program in
all of history. The presidents of this world have developed security mechanisms
that range from bomb- proof vehicles to counter snipers and very complex
intelligence networks that utilize state of the art, top of the range equipment.
Do you think that the God of the universe would have less for you?
God has marshaled out
of the kingdom citizens protection plan for you as you journey in these dark
days. Psalm 91 gives us an inkling into what God has provided for everyone who
has received the life of Jesus Christ.
For He shall
give his angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands
they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. “Psalm 91: 11, 12”
God has given his
angels charge over you. In other words, angels have strict instructions
concerning you. They cannot even afford to let you strike your foot against one
stone. Glory to God!! Can you imagine
the kind of reverence with which the angels carry out the instructions from the
Most High God? They can’t afford to let your foot hit a stone. Now, think about
that!
Some people have had
the wrong notion that angels are around us to take record of the things that we
do wrong. There’s not one verse of scripture that supports this assertion. However,
we have tons of scripture o show that God has charged them to protect us.
Put yourself in the
shoes of Daniel. Daniel’s only crime was that he prayed to God. His enemies
connived and made sure that he was punished for his actions. But then they had
not read Psalm 91. The Bible shows us that the reason angels are activated for
our sake is because we have made the Most High our dwelling place. (Psalm 91:
11).. Daniel eyes were fixed on the Lord. Even though the king had passed a
cruel edict that would affect his faith, he chose to stay true to God. Some
things will begin to happen to you when you stay with God. You see, you belong
to a country with an elaborate security system. You have invisible angelic
guards with instructions to save and protect you. No situation is too complex
for them to deal with. No enemy is too massive for them to destroy. One night,
an angel showed up in the camp of highly trained soldiers and killed 185,000
soldiers.
That night
the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000
Assyrians soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they
found corpses everywhere--. “Isiah 37:
36 NLT”
The angel made sure
other Assyrians woke up to tell the tale. Can you imagine the magnitude of the
victory? Now, what do you think would have happened if there were two angels?
What about 10? In the new covenant, the bible says we have come to a gathering
of immumerable angels.
But you have
come to mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem,
to an inmumerable company of angels--.
“Hebrew 12:22”
The angels at your
disposal are more than you have use for. God has made all things ready. These
angels are designed to minister to the heirs of salvation—you and I .
Therefore
angels are only servants,, spirit sent to care for people who will inherit
salvation--. “Hebrew 1:14”
They have been provided
to save you from calamity and protect you from evil. Even if a catastrophe hits
anywhere you, be assured that while a thousands may fall at your side and ten
thousands may fall at your right, it will not come near you. God has sent
angels to save and protect you! When you study Psalm 91, you realized that all
you need to do to enjoy God’s kingdom citizens’s protection program is to dwell
and abide with the Lord. Submit yourself completely to him. Align your life to
his word and watch how things will work for. Things will happen in your life
that will shock the people around you.
Peter sat resignedly
between two soldiers in his prison cell. The guards positioned at the door were
the best the government could provide. He was locked in a maximum security
holding facility. Has it struck you that God sent only one angel to his rescue?
(Acts 12: 1-11). The angelic deliverance was perhaps the sleekest rescue
operation ever recorded. The angel entered the cell, released Peter, walked him
to a safe place and disappeared without a clap of thunder, an earthquake or
drum rolls. Glory! That situation you are dealing with is too little for the
God you serve. Our God can break chains, stop crisis and turn situation around
in a split second.
It is important that
you recognize that while Peter was in jail, the church was praying to God on
his behalf (Acts 12:5). Do not neglect prayer. It is one of the most powerful
resources at your disposal as a new creation. When you pray in tongues, you
enforce spiritual operations beyond your wildest imaginations. You might be
praying in Nigeria and angels are moving on your behalf halfway across the
world. You are member of God’s family on earth and he takes that very
seriously.
The easiest way to
activate the ministry of angels is to pray in tongues. When you speak in other
tongues, you utter mysteries in the spirit. Because the Holy Spirit knows what
is in the mind of the Father concerning your life. He will instruct angels
ahead on your behalf.
You will be late for
tragedy. You will be on time for the right things. Your life will flow in the direction
of God’s will for you.
You will have help. You
will do well.
