FUNCTIONALITY OF A LEADER --- Part 3

A Leader Inspires People Around Them;- Inspiration is a vital point where leaders connects with other individuals, where purpose intersects with their purpose. When a leader inspire people around him, he awakens the sense of purpose in his followers and they will voluntarily join any genuine leader in order to fulfill their own contribution to the world by taking part in the leader’s vision. They will sacrificially offer their time, energy resources and creative power to be part of a larger purpose to which their vision is connected.

Genuine leaders inspires others to utilize their natural gift and abilities to fulfill their own natural purpose. It is important to note that people don’t receive their personal visions from their leaders, rather they are enabled to fulfill their own personal visions as they assist the genuine leader fulfill his.

Inspiration is quite the opposite of intimidation and it’s the absent of manipulation. When leaders fail to inspire others they usually resort to manipulating his people to force them take part in their map out agenda and do what they wish them to do.

The moment a leader recognizes his ability to be motivated by his purpose, convictions, vision and passion, he will never manipulate or abuse other people. The very moment a leader stops inspiring people and resort to manipulating them, he ceases to be a true leader.

A Leader Influences Others;- Everyone exercises some form of influence and to a large extent, leadership is influences other, either positive or negative. Anytime and individual is placed in a position of responsibility over his peers, he is a leader.

The most basic importance of influence is the capability to motivate people. Any leader who lacks the ability to influence, cannot lead his people. A genuine leader must have a strong passion before he can inspire his followers.

A change in human mind-set leads to a change in behavior. A genuine leader influences his followers out-look to the extent that their perspective becomes totally different from the former way they usually thought.

A genuine leader influences the morality of his followers in a positive way. Apparently, the absence of a good character in a leader’s influence leads to the condemnation of his followers to an appalling fate. Whatever we accommodate, we will either embrace it or be destroyed by it. It is our duty as individuals to know what kind of leaders we should follow. We must avoid being complacent.
